My Dear Friends in Rotary,
My heartful thanks to each one of you for making Varnam a grand Success. I am indeed overwhelmed by the excellent family participation and record number of registrations. The conference team has done excellent work, thanks to Rtn. S. Devarajan, conference chairman and Rtn. K. Karuppaiah, conference Secretary and the team members for their excellent support.
I take this opportunity to thank all, who contributed generously for the conference. I also thank the contributors for the foundation and Polio eradication.

அன்புள்ளம் கொண்ட ரோட்டரி நண்பர்களே,
அனைவருக்கும் எனது இனிய ரோட்டரி வணக்கங்கள். உங்களை இந்த இதழ் மூலம் மீண்டும் சந்திப்பதில் நான் பெருமகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறேன். அறக்கட்டளைக்கு மனமுவந்து தங்களது பங்களிப்பை அளித்த அனைவருக்கும் இந்த சந்தர்ப்பத்தில் எனது நன்றியை தெரிவித்துக்கொள்கிறேன். 100% EREY சங்கமாவதற்கு அதிக அளவில் ஆர்வத்துடன் உறுதி அளித்த அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி.
டிசம்பர் மாதம் Rotary Family Month ஆக அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. குடும்பம் என்பது தனிப்பட்ட குடும்பத்தை மட்டுமல்ல, நமது ரோட்டரி குடும்பம் அனைத்தையும் குறிப்பதாகும். நமது ரோட்டரி குடும்பம் என்பது ஒரு மிகப்பெரிய கூட்டு குடும்பம் என்று சொல்லலாம். இக்குடும்பத்தின் உறுப்பினர்கள் உலகெங்கும் பரவி இருந்தாலும், நாடு, மதம், இனம், மொழி ஆகியவற்றால் வேறுபட்டிருந்தாலும், தன்னலமற்ற சேவை – SERVICE ABOVE SELF - என்ற உணர்வில் ஒன்றுபட்டுள்ளனர். இதுவே நமது ரோட்டரியின் மாண்பு. கொல்கத்தாவில் நடந்த Rotary Institute–ல் கலந்து கொண்டதில் நான் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறேன். நமது RIP கல்யான் பேனர்ஜி, அவரது துணைவியார் மற்றும் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளிலிருந்து வந்திருந்த எனது சக மாவட்ட ஆளுநர்களை சந்திக்கும் அருமையான வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்தது.
உங்களது சங்கங்களில் அடுத்த ஆண்டிற்கான தலைவர் மற்றும் இதர பொறுப்பாளர்கள் தேர்தல் நடத்தி முடித்திருப்பீர்கள் என்று நினைக்கிறேன். அதில் CLP-யை நடைமுறைப்படுத்த ஆரம்பித்திருப்பீர்கள் என்று நம்புகிறேன். CLP–யை அமல்படுத்துவதன் மூலம் நல்ல தலைமை பண்பினை உருவாக்க முடியும். நீண்ட கால இலக்குகளை திட்டமிட்டு செயல்படுத்த முடியும்.
நமது அடுத்த பெரிய நிகழ்வு நமது மாவட்ட மாநாடு வர்ணம். இது நமது ரோட்டரி திருவிழா. அனைவரும் குடும்பத்துடன் பதிவு செய்திருப்பீர்கள் என்று நம்புகிறேன். இதுவரை பதிவு செய்யாதவர்கள் விரைவில் பதிவு செய்யும்படி அன்புடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன். உங்களது முன்பதிவு, ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர்கள் உங்களது சவுகரியங்களுக்கு தேவையான ஏற்பாடு செய்வதற்கு உதவியாக இருக்கும். வாருங்கள் புத்தாண்டை வர்ணமயமாகவும் சந்தோசமாகவும் அணைவரும் சேர்ந்து துவங்குவோம்.

அனைவருக்கும் எனது இனிய ரோட்டரி வணக்கங்கள். உங்களை இந்த இதழ் மூலம் மீண்டும் சந்திப்பதில் நான் பெருமகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறேன். நாம் பொறுப்பேற்று நான்கு மாதங்கள் வேகமாக கடந்துவிட்டன. அனைவரும் ரோட்டரி சேவையில் முழுமையான ஈடுபாட்டுடன் செலாற்றி வருவீர்கள் என்று நம்புகிறேன். அறக்கட்டளைக்கு மனமுவந்து தங்களது பங்களிப்பை அளித்த அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி.
நவம்பர் மாதம் Rotary Foundation Month ஆக அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. கொடுப்பதில் கிடைக்கும் இன்பத்தைவிட சிறந்த இன்பம் வேறு எதுவும் இல்லை. அறக்கட்டளைக்கு உங்களது பங்களிப்பால், இந்த சமுதாயத்திற்கு செய்யப்படும் “குழந்தைகள் இருதய சிகிச்சை, போலியோ நோய் ஒழிப்பு, சுத்திகரிக்கப்பட்ட குடி நீர் வழங்குதல் போன்ற பல நல்ல அத்தியாவசியமான சேவைகளை நினைத்துப் பார்க்கும்போது இந்த இன்பம் பல மடங்கு ஆகும். ஆகவே ஒவ்வொரு ரொட்டேரியனும் முன்வந்து அறக்கட்டளைக்கு தங்களது ஆதரவை அளிக்க வேண்டிய தருணம் இதுவே. EREY-ஐ கடைப்பிடித்து $100 ஒவ்வொருவரும் வழங்கினால், உலகில் எங்கு தேவையோ அங்கு ரோட்டரி உதவிக்கரம் நீட்டமுடியும் போலியோவை முற்றிலுமாக ஒழிக்கும் முயற்சியில் கடைசி கட்ட்த்தில் இருக்கிறோம். உங்களது பங்களிப்பை அனுப்பி வைக்கும்படி அன்புடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன்.
நமது மாவட்ட மாநாடு வர்ணம் மிகச்சிறப்பாக நடை பெற இருக்கிறது. சிறந்த பேச்சாளர்கள், புதுமையான நிகழ்ச்சிகள், சுவையான உணவு வகைகள் என்று உங்களுக்காக சிறப்பான ஏற்பாடுகள் செய்யப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. அனைவரும் உடனே பதிவு செய்து குடும்பத்துடன் கலந்து கொண்டு மாநாட்டை சிறப்பிக்க கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன்.

அனைவருக்கும் எனது இனிய ரோட்டரி வணக்கங்கள். உங்களை இந்த இதழ் மூலம் மீண்டும் சந்திப்பதில் நான் பெருமகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறேன். 25.09.2011 அன்று சேலத்தில் நடைபெற்ற Rotary Foundation Seminar – “ஈதல்”-க்கு வந்திருந்து சிறப்பித்த அனைவருக்கும் எனது நன்றியை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். இந் நிகழ்ச்சியை மிகச் சிறப்பாக நடத்தி கொடுத்த சேர்மன் Rtn. வசந்த் புசலகர், செயலளர் Rtn.V.ஹரிபாஸ்கர், சேலம் கேலக்சி ரோட்டரி சங்கத்தலைவர் Rtn.G.R. பத்மநாபன், செயலாளர் Rtn.S. ஜெயராமன் மற்றும் உறுப்பினர்களுக்கும் எனது மனமார்ந்த நன்றியை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். அறக்கட்டளைக்கு மனமுவந்து தங்களது பங்களிப்பை அளித்த அனைவருக்கும் எனது நன்றி.
Honey bee Polio திட்டம் ஒரு வெற்றிகரமான திட்டமாக செயல்பட்டு வருவது குறித்து மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சி. இத்திட்ட்த்தில் Anns காட்டிவரும் ஈடுபாடு மிகவும் பெருமை அளிக்க்கூடிய விஷயம். அனைவருக்கும் எனது நன்றி, போலியோவை முற்றிலுமாக ஒழிக்கும் முயற்சியில் கடைசி கட்ட்த்தில் இருக்கிறோம். உஙளது பங்களிப்பை அனுப்பி வைக்கும்படி அன்புடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன். ரோட்டரி அறக்கட்டளையை, அது உஙளது அறக்கட்டளை என்ற உணர்வோடு, பலப்படுத்த வேண்டியது உங்கள் கடமை.
அக்டோபர் மாதம் Vocational Service Month ஆக அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. ரோட்டரியின் சிறப்பம்சமே Vocational Service தான். ஏனென்றால் நாம் ரோட்டரியில் இருப்பதற்கு அடிப்படையே ந்மது தொழில் மற்றும் வியாபாரம் ஆகியவற்றால்தான். ஆகவே தொழிலில் நன்னெறியை நாம் கடைபிடித்து மரற்றவர்களுக்கும் வழிகாட்டியாகவும், முன்மாதிரியாகவும் இருந்து ரோட்டரியின் மாண்பை நாம் காக்க வேண்டும். அனைத்து சங்கங்களிலும் தொழிற்பயிற்சிக்கான செயல் திட்டங்களை ஏற்பாடு செய்திருப்பீர்கள் என்று நம்புகிறேன். நிறைய சங்கங்கள் RYLA Program நடத்தி இருப்பது குறித்து மகிழ்சி.

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
It is indeed a great honor and privilege to serve the Rotarians in District 2980 as the District Governor of 2011-2012. Our district is fortunate to have Rotarians who have sense of purpose and friendship and ever eager to make difference to the world. Our Rotarians provide water for the thirsty, food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless and hope for those in despair. Our Rotarians, along with other Global Rotarians, have made a commitment to eradicate polio. We have almost reached the finishing line. The final inch will be hardest, nut We Can and We Will End Polio Now.
Our 2011-2012 Rotary International President, Kalyan Banerjee said, “In order to achieve anything in this world, a person has to use all the resources he can draw on. And the only place to start is with us and within ourselves, once Rotarians find their inner strength, he continued, they can accomplish great things in their communities and around the world. Discover yourself, develop the strengths within you, and then unhesitatingly, unflinchingly, go forth and encircle the world, to embrace humanity,”.
You are a member of the oldest and largest service organization in the world. The Family of Rotary has 532 Districts, over 33,000 Clubs, and 1.21 million members in over 200 countries and geographic areas. Right from 1993 Our District 2980 has grown by leaps and bounds in Rotary Foundation & Membership. Every Rotary member in our District is important to us and without your help we cannot accomplish the enormous projects. To make more visible what your team has accomplished, I am suggesting each Club to record the hours of service put in by your members in Rotary service for this Rotary year. To carry out the projects successfully I understand that each club has to manage their own resources. Your recording of the amount raised and the contribution to the society will be of immense help to monitor the clubs achievements. It is only with these efforts that we can promote peace and understanding and do the best of the needy.
This directory has been published to give you a quick reference guide to the District Leadership Team. The District Leadership Team is always ready and ever willing to assist to achieve your goals. I congratulate the team which has brought out this beautiful directory.
As District Governor, it is my job to provide you with the assistance you need in achieving your club goals and Rotary’s global goals of bringing peace, goodwill and understanding to all people. I am looking forward to serve with each of you this year. This year our RI Theme is “Reaching Within to Embrace Humanity”. Let us join together in a mutual promise of teamwork to implement this theme.
